Welcome to the Get Set for School program.  The workbook, multisensory products, and music that make up the program have delighted millions of children, parents and teachers.  It has won two of the most prestigious national education awards-The Children's Curriculum Winner from the Association of Educational Publishers and The Teacher's Choice Award from Learning Magazine.  You'll be amazed at how much your children will enjoy the activities, and you'll be impressed with the progress they make.

The Get Set for School program has so many child-friendly, developmentally appropriate materials and activities.  Children play build, sing, color, and learn while developing important skills for kindergarten:

  • Language Proficiency
  • Social Skills
  • Fine and Gross Motor Control
  • Color and Shape Awareness
  • Letter and Number Recognition
  • Counting

The program suits a wide range of children and adapts to their changing needs as they grow.  While it has much that's new and different, it still meshes with what good, developmentally-focused teachers have always believed and done with their students.  What's unique are the new activities, materials, and songs that develop important skills while still respecting the playful nature of the child.  For example:

  • Children love to sing about and build Mat Man.  They participate eagerly and naturally.  They learn how to take turns, follow a sequence, identify body parts, count, and draw.
  • Children like to handle, sort, and stack the four different Wood Pieces.  They learn about big and little lines, big and little curves.  Soon they'll use the Wood Pieces to build letters.  They learn how to build B correctly:  first with a big line, and then with two little curves on the right side.
  • Children naturally learn number concepts as they sing the Animal Legssong:  "Two legs in the front, two legs in the back, the horse has four legs, i know that."  Using the farm animals in the classroom as props, children learn to observe and count legs.  There's more than four-legged animals!  There are also songs about birds (2 legs), insects (6 legs) and spiders (8 legs) too.
  • Children who Aim and Scribble in the Get Set for School workbook learn how to hold the crayon correctly and progress smoothly to coloring, drawing, and writing letters and numbers.

Pre-K is a joyful time to grow and get ready for school.  We developed the activities and products of the Get Set for School program to respect the needs and nature of young children, while still preparing them for kindergarten!
